However, for a franchise such as Gundam, the DVD sales aren't as much of an indicator of success than the model kit sales. For Bandai, long after the DVDs have been off the shelves, continued sales of that series' model kits is what they're looking at.
Mobile Suit Gundam's mobile suits continue to dominate the Gundam market even after 30 years. The MG Acguy was the most heavily demanded MG restock item of 2006 according to Bandai's' supply figures.
