Thing is, we gotta remember that the pirate Law chose to ally himself with is kind of a huge thorn in the WG's side. They wouldn't be very approving of such a partnership (nor do I believe they'd approve of most pirate alliances in general). I mean, if it weren't such a big deal, then guys like Dofla and Crocodile wouldn't be running shady businesses underground, would they?
