Fanon classification, because in canon no transforming unit besides Akatsubaki exist. (Byakushiki only has transforming sword, and even then it's limited. Yet is classified as Gen 3.5)
In here, ByakuShiki has transforming thruster (similar to ByakuShiki custom in ST) to switch between maximum speed/balanced/maximum maneuverability, a design also shared by both Northland Messiah and Silver Gospel. Basically, all G3.5 unit has two or more form, rather than total frame switch like G4's fold out armor or VT System morphing metal.
(BTW, G5 use direct neural interface + supporting AI right? I kinda forgot about those)
Yeah, hardly new, and gender inverted case is even more common. :|
