As I reach the end of this weeks chapter, I come to the realization that I want to know who killed Kirge significantly more so than what's to become of Byakuya's fate. Unfortunately, for Kubo to pull off a stunt like this means I won't be expecting Kubo to return to Ichigo and Urahara's situation for the next few weeks.
On a slightly unrelated note, I'll give Kubo credit for finally drawing a couple of pretty disturbing panels for once. Because a decomposing Rukia skull was one thing, but then those follow-up panels of Byakuya getting consumed by the flies was kind of intense as well. I was impressed.
