Oh, I have no problem with Kira's reasons. I also think the show does a pretty good job of pointing out that you need power to achieve an ideal.
That's why I'm fine with how Freedom and Strike Freedom are capable of taking on multiple enemies. It really makes sense for Lacus to choose them for Kira given what he wants to do.
