Anime is niche in JP, as is everywhere else. Something that Japanese don't even consider as their 'core' culture will not be showcased at the international stage.

While I can maybe see Hatsune Miku in the 2020 Olympics, the sports anime that everybody is talking about on this thread have zero chances in hell of being showcased. And I'm being serious.
