No Life/Resurrection-Type magic is currently possible. Only healing.

Shirou was still within an inch of his life when Rin healed him. If he was dead, then Rin couldn't have healed him, even with her pendant.

The whole point of the Grail War is to find a way to gain access to Life/Resurrection-Type magics.

Rin does teach Shirou some magic later on, and though he still sucks at everything but his Scanning/Blueprint-Type magic, it eventually helps him unlock the next stage of his magical abilities.
