I agree with the previous posts.
A shame the anime didn't portray Nakanishi being a jerk and that he purposely did that to Mei.
The flashback I think it is explained later so maybe they will give the details in the future episodes?
The rest of the episode was great and Mei sounds as cute as I imagined.
