Yeah, Jiro confessed to Konoe at end of Vol8 and got rejected. He was so heartbroken he wanted it to stop, so when Kureha came to wake him up once he asked her to use her best attacks on him to knock his memories away. After the strongest attack (a 3-hit combo that included [ランニングスリー], [Northern Light Bomb], and [Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex Hold]) that Kureha pulled out Jirou stood back up like he didn't even felt it and asked Kureha to do more to him. She freaked out that Jirou has 'gone wierd' and ran away.

Kureha also gave up on waking him up, letting Usami to wake Jirou up from that point onwards (ie Vol9).

No matter how I look at it, Konoe is clearly the cannon girl based on the flags (correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't read this), and Kanade has no chance. If you like Kanade archetypes to stand a chance, I recommend "Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba sugiru".

The BL-doujin writer, after hearing Konoe's going out with Kanade and Usami is supposedly a couple with Jirou (prior to the end of volume confession; Kanade also made it seem Usami is going out with Jirou since they're living together) she was less anguished that the guy she 'likes' is in a relationship and more anguished that she's wasn't told this earlier so she can stalk them and dig up inspiration for writing her doujins :P

Kanade managed to calm her down by saying she can write about potentially messy relationships between Jirou, herself and Konoe... which in hindsight it's ironic that things spiraled out of Kanade's control and yes things did become messy.

On a side note: I'm not supporting Kanade ending up with Jirou, she's put him in too many incidents and enjoyed his suffering. I'm happy with Usami having Jirou with the plot as it is right now.
