I get too many reports of "School boards and administrators being stupid" on a regular basis (I used to belong to a help group for teens-who-need-to-hear-there's-life-after-high-school-if-you-don't-fit-in).
Usually its idiot things like "top honors student suspended for a Revolutionary War project that included a stryofoam replica of a period musket" or "student suspended for nail clippers == weapon". Sometimes its for "think of the children" idiocy like LOTR=witchcraft or D&D=witchcraft.
We have school boards composed of witchhunting authoritarians with too much time on their hands, principals who don't seem to have learned a thing in college, and teachers who are stuck in either left or right soundbite-thinking ... its a wonder any students manage to escape.
