The thought just occured to me in terms of Eclaire's motive to convince Tamaki to marry her.

It's clear that Tamaki's mother is a maid in the house of Tonnerre. It was from Tamaki's mother that Eclaire heard about Tamaki being a nice, gentle guy and able to play the piano well.

It's then possible that Eclaire has grown really close to Tamaki's mother and sympathises the fact that she can't see her own son. Since Tamaki's grandmother's condition to let mother see Tamaki was for the engagement to take place, then it would be one of the reasons Eclaire was willing to do so. Other reasons would have been pressure from her family for the business.

I guess the reasons for her tears weren't selfish. It could have been the fact that she had to make a decision to let go of Tamaki on behalf of Tamaki's mother.

So I don't think she's a bad person either. =) Just really weird because she takes binnoculars into the shower. She'd be awesome to cosplay. ^^
