Well don't think that particular attack had greater meaning outside of the scene. Just to show that Lawrence and Horo are different and there is a gap between them that will take time to bridge. Maybe also to explain the wolf related freak outs which can be understandable if you've had some close calls with wolves. Of course maybe there is something deeper that we don't know about yet.
Don't think it will be something covered in episode 13 at least. Shouldn't be nearly such a large cliff hanger like in Code Geass. Just betting on solving the immediate situation and riding out together.
