Scrolling through the K-On! Manga's first volume, Kakifly states that Mio is left handed because he is, and has expressed interest in doing a story about the troubles of being left-handed. Thus, that speculation is totally true. Of course, I've always wondered how some things work for lefties, like rifles and computer keyboard/mice setups, but I'm going off-topic
