I'm so tired of Tamaki crying over herself. And why the heck did she send away Takuma in the first place ? "Wait for me, let me be on my own till I properly awake". Nah, seems too damn honest to be told in this anime.

Well they use the word "guardians" for all of them. What if the Oni was actually a guardian who wanted to use the sword but got in trouble in the past? We really don't have the full story so I bet there was blame on both sides (Original Tamayori Princess and Oni). We only know from the flashback that they were an item and the Oni didn't seem like a bad guy.
Tamaki still believes her grandmother. Close relatives don't usually lie to you. Baba is the previous Princess so Tamaki thinks that she's trying to help her as much as she can. To her credit, she did break out at the end of the episode.
