* I feel
really dumb for not thinking that Kinzo was dead the first time around now :/. Just putting that out there.
* As for the already-mentioned "Rudolf makeup" scene, I don't think there are any better "masterminds" for the fakery part of the first twilight than Rudolf and Kyrie.
* Hints for some variant of a George/Shannontrice-type theory are
heavy. And this is only a list of the more immediately obvious ones. The hints for this seemed almost as numerous as the hints for Kinzo being long gone:
--- As Maria answered Battler and Jessica's questions about magic, "George-aniki and Shannon-chan would act surprised and
agree with everything she said."
--- Maria does not think of the scorpion amulets by herself - George
prompts her.
--- Not one, but
two instances of people suggesting that Shannon is dressing up as Beatrice -
one with Natsuhi, and
one with Eva.
---
George notices Maria pulling the letter out first.
--- George indicates that
he knew that the typhoon was coming beforehand, hence why he cancelled all of his Monday appointments. Many people say it's impossible to plan a crime like this without knowing that a typhoon was approaching. Well...
--- For some reason, I felt like
this was a little suspicious, almost like George was sensing that they'd get trapped up in the study and was trying to provoke Jessica into convincing the group to stay in the open.
--- In the tea party, Shannon remarks about her unfortunate death:
"it's not like it hurt". (true, insta-death wouldn't necessarily hurt, but that remark still sounds kind of suspicious)
*****About her not being able to break out of the storehouse: nobody ever went back and looked to see if the storehouse was left untouched (why would they?). Her argument about the padlock is therefore irrelevant if there are a ton of tools in there that could be used to forcibly break open an exit. Not that anybody's ever actually used that argument here : P.
* Trust me, I did look (if you can believe that), but I found almost nothing similar to the above that I could directly correlate with Shkanon. Aside from Kanon generally being there to back Shannon up and mentioning something about it's his "job" to watch over her, I didn't see any good, "juicy" subtext. But if anybody saw anything that I didn't, definitely post it : ).
* Rereading the part with Natsuhi and Eva arguing makes me about 90% sure (taking into account possible trolling) that Jessica really
doesn't know about Kinzo being dead. This is potentially important, because she seemed pretty betrayed when her parents were talking money trash, so just think about what an emotional weapon one would have if somebody revealed that her parents
and Kanon/Shannon have been lying to her for quite a long time.
not that she cares about the old man himself
* ....sort of on the other hand, was Jessica somehow involved in the 1st twilight
? She seemed to know
exactly where to go and lead everybody to the storehouse. Of course, she lives there, but it still seemed kind of odd.
* Genji encourages Kanon to go with the cousins and
"play as a child". Something about this surprised me, and I'm not sure what it was. Maybe it's the fact that Genji is also technically "furniture" and seems to take that title seriously.
* Speaking of Kanon, why was he spying on the family conference? It could've just been a device to show Kinzo's RAGE, but I don't know...
