And I would say lucky for us, but with the ep end in a serious way like that the doubt / thought come in mind.
I thought about that possibility ,especially with Gai being the only one with Shu at the moment and it would seem logical thing to think. The issue is we don't know if Gai is still alive or only faint and we don't know what would happen if Shu tries to pull out Gai void now that it is hurt so badly.Not to mention that we do not know why that other void user wanted Inori Void and take Inori herself with him.
