Spoiler for Episode 14 of Hyouka:
Good episode good episode... kinda like this episode more than the "abit gloomy" episode 13 last week. But overall its fun and enjoyable, especially during the Wildfire competition.
- I'm glad one of Mayaka's senpai wearing King (from King of Fighters) cosplay...
- Due to Mayaka couldn't get the thing that her senpai wanted, Mayaka has to stay at the club to help to draw character poster. And Mayaka is a good artist too..
- Chitanda requesting Irisu's help to sell their anthology... and somewhat she's asking Irisu to teach her.. er.. im not sure.. smthing about how to ask for help from others? Somehow Irisu is abit surprised when Chitanda asking her about it...
- 2 halloween girls trading the water gun + anthology from Oreki with biscuits + rice.. the trading is a bit off, and Oreki had to pay the anthology given to the girls using its own money lol.
- Wildfire competition aka cooking competition.. 4 groups, 3 person per group, with each group is given 1 hr time to complete the dish... each person will take 20 minutes to complete their round.
- Fukube sliced the radish without peeling it first... which made Chitanda worried. Its funny that Fukube peeled the sliced radish one by one, when its better to peel the radish first before slicing it...
- Chitanda's turn to cook... she is very adept and skillful when it comes to cooking. However because she gets too carried away when cooking, she didn't realized that she used all the ingredients for their team, leaving Mayaka with almost nothing to cook.
- When Mayaka thought that she would never be able to cook anything with left ingredients, Oreki saves the day by delivering the rice he got from the girls before.
- She realized that one of the cooking utensils, the ladle, is gone.. and though she got it from the jury after waiting awhile, and somewhat managed to finish her dish on time, it still didn't help their team from winning the competition.
- Mayaka claimed that she could cook better if not because of the lost ladle. And Chitanda realized that the ladle was stolen, with a notice (same like the previous eps) placed under the utensils tray without them knowing it.
- Next episode... Jumonji's experiment? The preview doesn't seem to give any clear hint, but i guess the Kanya Festival arc will still continue.
I think the whole episode is good... the pace is a bit slow, but thats fine for me. The cooking competition was good and fun to watch.
8/10
