One thing I've been mulling over, given the similarity of this show and Idolm@ster, is whether personalities other than the Haruka-archetype would make good leaders. What would it be like if we had the quiet, brooding type as the centre of the group?
In the case of Idolm@ster, I think Chihaya, Iori, and even Mami (notwithstanding her young age) could have made good leaders. The show would obviously have a different feel given their different personalities, but they would have their own styles of leadership that could still be effective.
In Love Live!, I can envision Niko having a similar leadership style to what Iori's would have been. We don't have much to work with at this point when it comes to Eri.
