Pretty good chapter, nice to see the action pick up again after so much plot dumping. As we seem to be getting closer, and closer to end of this series, I find it interesting that while killing off main characters, Kami is slowly killing off the Needless world. He started with the destruction of the Blackspots via the self-defense ships, and now humans look like their going to be wiped out by the Eden seed bombs. With the gate destroyed, seems like it will only be a matter of time before more angels start coming through, and who knows how much destruction they can cause.
In regards as to whether the angel is defenseless, or not at first glance it does look hurt. Beyond the missing sections, it doesn't seem to have any actual wounds, and on the left side it looks like it has an eye in its shoulder. Since nothing is ever easy for the heroes, I'm expecting it to give Blade a bit of a fight.
