Dunno how the original material goes, so no clue what happens, but based solely on the anime, my fears on what would happen after seeing Yagyuu's and Hibari's characters partially came true; Hibari being little more than moeblob-service and Yagyuu compromising herself to be her shield due to Hibari being a little sister foil.
I just question what the point of Hibari is besides being fuel (and a detriment without a lot of improvement) for Yagyuu. I mean, these last couple episodes, she came off almost as annoying as Orihime from Bleach with her constant cries of "Yagyuu-chan! Yagyuu-chan!" while seeming to be completely unable to do anything herself.
