Spoiler for DESLER & DOMEL:
Desler releases Domel from prison and has a mission for him, but Domel first asks to take on the Yamato one last time. Now, Domel has two missions: Kidnap the Iscandarian aboard the Yamato and then sink it.
With the only number of warships in proximity of Garmillas being the Home Defense Fleet, they become the last line of defense at the homeworld, while they give Domel a compliment for four decommissioned astro carriers to complete his mission — including his own super dreadnought, Domelaze III. Domel via his friend Talan, obtains a secret project from weapons development, a matter transmitter device, which is mounted on the saucer bridge of his dreadnought.
Domel also has an Asteroid Mining Drill converted into a weapon to penetrate and explode the Yamato. Vice Lord Hyss says that if Domel defeats the Yamato, his wife's prison sentence will be reduced. Domel is grateful and vows to defeat the Yamato — with old warships with young, inexperienced trainee crews (and a few retired veterans).
But, only Domel's mission to kidnap the Iscandarian is successful. Or is it? After Domel's ultimate defeat; Desler has the Iscandarian prisoner, transferred from Flakken's UX-01 to Prison Planet 17, to meet another ship. But a prison break out ensues, and Flakken is forced to return her to Desler, personally. Unfortunately, they have mistaken Yuki Mori for Yurishia Iscandar — who keeps up the charade.
Desler's top project, to move the capital to another world — presumably Iscandar, has culminated in the creation of a floating city, christened "Baleras II." But, with the Yamato quickly approaching Garmillas and Iscandar, Desler orders it to be used against the Yamato herself... When the Yamato warps into the Salezar System (where the binary planets reside in the fourth orbit), they arrive at the 5th planet, and begin to man all battlestations, don space suits, and prepare for a major confrontation.
Thinking they are unobserved, we hear a Garmillas countdown... and the "Desler Attacks" theme from the Comet Empire story kicks in — MAJOR GOOSEBUMPS — and suddenly a powerful energy surge is directed at the Yamato...
End of Episode 22.
Hope that helps!
