It won't be a harem. Why? Because Okada doesn't write harems, period. In her writing career she's written two series I would call harem: Canvas 2 and Toradora!(And I'd be hard pressed to call Toradora a harem series). So I checked the wikipedia page for the anime and what do you know, it has multiple heterosexual relationships.
As for Atsuko Ishizuka, she most recently worked on Chihayafuru. This will be her second work as director, so it's hard to tell what she is capable of. Plus she's a woman director. Okada may supposedly dislike men, but she may enjoy the female input?
Plus this is an adaptation not an original anime...she would have to jump through a lot of hoops to insert traps where they don't belong.
As for your J.C. Staff + light novel insecurities...well cast has been announced, just be glad there's no Rie Kugimiya?
