That's too idealistic. The Starchild outright says that the creators didn't want to ascend but the solution was carried out anyway. It wasn't something they planned, it was a solution the the first Reaper came up with on their own because of certain unknowns that we may never know. All we know is that the Creators went to war with Synthetics and made what would later become a Reaper which forced Ascension upon its creator race as the final solution.
