I think this sig is off to a good start, and yes, personally I think you should keep the wings, they're a nice touch. Falling feathers huh? I know jack about animation, but perhaps you could apply the whole flower petal falling action thing to the feathers...didn't Riker have some tutorial on that?
Anyways, keep up the work, it'll be fun to have you in the competition this month ^_^
