I believe it has. They are just not ready to face it.

It really is hard for them to accept it and even if they have, than it means they would have to kill "something" that looks like their mother, which is not as easy as killing "something" that resembles a human being and eats everything. When you consider how Ed cried after killing Greed without knowing he will die, I doubt they would want to face Sloth before confirming Homonculi cannot be fully turned into humans they were supposed to be.
