Simple fact, the 1%/.01% is paying far lower tax rates than they did for the entire 20th Century. In fact, they did their best during some of the higher taxation periods (if for no other reason there was a large middle class to sell to). So for them to complain they can't make it under the lowest tax rates in history or compete globally against others who pay far more in taxes in other countries --- "histrionics" is a nice word and "totally incompetent it seems" might also come to mind.
