Well Arclight said it was the portal that swallowed up Tokyo and ten million people. At the moment we don't really have anything else to go by. But about the people being in Blackspot, that's easy enough. Just read the first page of Needless 1,5 again.

Arclight is pretty fanatical, he wouldn't dare admit the angels were hurt by Earthly weapons, that's why I think he used the words "used up their energy".
Its impossible to know the true order of events without further explanation, this is just the way I interpret it.

Well it's not "knowing" which makes talks like this interesting. If you know something for sure there's not much use talking about it. It's interesting to see you have an entirely different view on this matter.

Nobody....at least not at that time and that's what's interesting. Now let's say the Angel coming through the gate was weakened. If so Gido could beat him relatively easy I guess(I'd like to stress relatively). But what if what you say is right and the Angel wasn't weakened. That would mean Gido has defeaten a fully powered Angel? By himself? That would be impressive. Impressive enough for me to wonder why he didn't take Eve along with him to the other side right away and find a way to rescue Kasumi. Why did Gido have to wait for 16 years to give it a go? Did he need a powerful buddy(Saten) to watch his back over there?
Well, these are some of the questions I ask myself when thinking about the matter. Sometimes merely asking the questions is more interesting than having the answers. I don't know how this works for anyone else here, but I derive at least half of my fun out of Needless through the conversations and ideas here
