The two's brothers sacrificed for the others and survivors despised their villages. Madara believes that hatred is the only thing left for the clan and he tried having his revenge for Izuna against Konoha lots of years ago. Sasuke originally tried to have his revenge against Konoha but after Itachi's departure he wants to know if there's something more important for the clan than hatred.
