There aren't any shortcuts. Remove all distractions, create a good work environment. That means games, tv shows, good books......arrange your work routine so they won't easily catch your eye.

Forget any past mistakes or laziness, because dwelling on that will deter you. Just do what you got to do. Remember, no matter how glamorous the career, successful people have to do the boring work sometimes. Sportsmen have to spend hours on repetitive drills. Company CEOs have to read memos in between jetsetting. Batman has to skulk around rooftops hours on a slow day, looking for a criminal to get naughty.

That's life. Most importantly, don't expect someone to motivate or push you. The best you can do is choose for yourself what you'd be willing to work hard for. If there isn't any long-term goal that is important enough to you, then you might as well play and enjoy life instead.
