This episode highlights probably the thing I like most about SHAFT.
They can tell a story.
Despite their oddities, quirks and fixations, most of the time they nail the storytelling. A proper storyteller can make a good story great, and even make a weak or boring story enjoyable. Not many companies do it as well as SHAFT. Some have better technical execution, most have better time management, but SHAFT takes voice work, backgrounds, sometimes uses animation, music and edits it together into something that is far stronger than the sum of the parts.
Or perhaps I like their brand of insanity.
