My gosh, no one has recommended the original Harem Anime Love Hina? (Ai Yori was spawned from this)
Also Magikano (Just silly slapstick with a soso ending)
And no one mention the best IMHO Vandread (This is the best, the Male lead actually GROWS with the series and reaches a conclusion at the end) (SciFi Mecha)
Another similar one is Nadesico, but Vandread is better.
A really short but good one is My Dear Marie about a boy who builds a robot that looks just like his secret love.
And since you like shuffle, then Kanon and Clannad are in the same style as Shuffle (And better IMHO)
