Sure they've reached the half-way point and it makes a bit of sense to look back at what has happened, but to be honest, considering the low production value of this anime, I'm more prone to thinking they just couldn't finish the next episode on time. This episode, they didn't have enough content to reach the end of the episode, so the last two seconds or so was a mysterious and pointless screenshot of the galaxy.
PS: Yui-hime, please remember Yamamoto(=Target Practice) sometimes.
