The Ar Tonelico series is pretty much a spinoff of the popular Atelier Iris series. Generally, the game is an ADV+RPG but I don't think people in North America would consider it as an adventure game as that ADV in Japan has a total different meaning than that of ADV games in NA and EUR. Adventure games usually imply visual novels, whereas it is sidescroller in NA/EUR, I think. Currently, I am still about 40 hours in AT2 and haven't played it over a month. I started AT1 recently and is already 15+ hours into the game. Got to Lv5 cosmosphere for Misha and Lv2 for Aurica, haven't meet Shurelia yet. I am heading to the Frozen Eye but have yet to continue my game, so I am not there yet even..

I haven't decided which route to take yet for AT1. Aurica seems to be very different than in the ova where she is the bold, yet gloomy talkative girl. Obviously, Aurica isn't like that at all in the game. She lacks confidence and doesn't like to talk. I can't even find any conversation topics, still couldn't unlock Lv2 soulspace. Misha seems strange.. She is supposed to be 18 but for some odd reason, the girl retains her 12 year old appearance. I wonder if she will ever revert back to her original self. It seems she doesn't want to grow up and the fact that she has her important thing stolen. The important thing was mentioned but I forgot about it as that I haven't played the game for a few days, so I no longer have a clue as to what it is. Shurelia seems to look like an android like KOS-MOS or Aegis, perhaps a mix of both. Based on her tone of voice and her appearance, she seems a lot older than Aurica and Misha. However, based on the CGs floating around, her appearance is actually very different than her true age which is a few centuries old. I suppose there are other characters too?

I had picked Kuroshe-sama who at first thought was a reserved lady who seems to be charismatic and not to mention that the seiyuu Sawashiro Miyuki did a great job but the fujoshi turned out to be a tsundere and also her viewpoint on the issue of the Goddess was distorted as that there was some twists near the end of the story on her route which reveals that siding with the Goddess was a better choice but early in the game, you wouldn't feel that way as that you keep on getting the impression that the Goddess is a tyrant and pure evil that you must crush at all costs and thus, most people who played the game would have picked Kuroshe-sama's route. A well-reserved lady who is also noble and charismatic, not mentioning very pretty is fighting against a tyrant Goddess who seeks to destroy the world. Who wouldn't help her? Aside from that, she is also very cute whenever she visits the fancy shop to buy the latest anime doll of some sort.. But the big twist.. I sort of want to get used to that attitude of hers but honestly.. If I were to replay the game, I might not pick to protect Kuroshe-sama with my life a second time. On the contrary, the other heroines aren't all that better either. Luca seems to have some sort of problem which I don't know much about. Then, there is Raki.. Raki is actually Mir, the main antagonist and also final boss of AT1. What a surprise!? Aside from these three, there is Coconoa who is a little girl.. Was there a 5th character? I don't remember...

I never did until I just read this post of yours which made me clicked it. However, I only glance through it, so I don't really know the details still.^^

If you meant Ayatane, it doesn't really matter to me. As for Shurelia-sama, I still have no clue and now, I will not click on any massive spoilers. *chuckle*
