Every sports anime has non-match episodes in between matches, even Slam Dunk and Eyeshield.
The shooter has a very cool line in the upcoming match. Just wait for it.

I don't remember it being mentioned that he has to confess to the coach, just that the team has to confess to the girls they like naked.
