I'd throw a "9" except that Taiga's vulnerability during scenes like the cookie giving or the confession scene were really well communicated (as was Ryuuji's supportiveness). So from an anime-only standpoint, I thought it was worth a "10".
Kitamura seemed to understand quite clearly Taiga's subconscious mixed feelings during the confession by the way he noted how she talked about Ryuuji. It was a shame the dialog only inferred what had happened between them a year earlier.
The nice thing here is that we've hurdled past the "usual tsundere cliche plotline" and move directly to the "partners in crime" where events less often seen in romance comedy happen.
