Looking at it this way, Isshin gets Masaki while Ryuuken gets Katagiri. This would explain why Ichigo seems to have latent powers while Uryu has to train hard with his Quincy powers (this would explain why he sews so well since he seems to inherit that skill from the maid Katagiri). I want to know what Aizen did with the Hōgyoku, which made me think Hichigo was the 1st VL to be subjected to his experiments. I mean Aizen, Gin, and Tosen were already captains at the time, so this wouldn't be far off with Hichigo and the Hōgyoku.
