You don't need to prove it's infinite. The uncertainty itself is a given until proven. So until we can prove the universe is finite, it is infinite by default. And infinity is a concept. It's not a existing value that can actually exist. It's the default declaration to anything deemed impossible to calculate. Such as division by 0.

No one has actually divided an object by zero. They didn't prove it's equivalent to infinity. It remains that way until someone can actually divide something by zero.
