I find this to be moste amusing. They're going for a world record of some sort
Also, for good measure, for all interested parties, I found a cleaned up, 1920 by 1080 version of the image consisting of a few of the school ships from OVA III. Unlike the original from the Japanese blog, this image names the school (Koala) for the vessel
