OP is by Ceui who did the last ED. ED is by Takagaki Ayahi (=Ferris).
Spoiler for ep 13 + LN comparisons:
Only one word: rushed. Kiefer's BG story is not as impactful in the anime. In the LN, I could really feel her pain, desperation, and despair. They were randomly accused of being spies but in truth they weren't.
In the LN, Kiefer wanted to run away originally and not save the siblings, but she changed her mind when they reminded her of her past and her sisters.
Refal liked what Kiefer did. He use his Rule Fragment sword, which comes at a price and killed about ten thousand troops with that (LN). Kiefer didn't refuse to join him, she just told him in time she will come to him, but not now.
Noa initially was wary of Sion's intentions but relented. She was needed to rally the Estabul forces to Roland, and to seek out talent as well.
When Ferris and Ryner split, Ferris was chased by Kuu and not holding off the soldiers (LN). Sui knowing that they might escape, told Ryner specifically that they were keeping Kuku in a specific house as hostage, so the Orlas can just wait for them instead of going after them. In the LN, Ryner was shown to be frustrated by the fact that they have no choice but to go to them in the end.
Unfortunately an excellent joke / antic was cut at the part when Ryner & Ferris were trying to find Kuku. After defeating the soldiers outside the house and before the Orlas burst out of the house(from LN):
Ryner & Ferris realized Kuku was not inside the house since there was no presence felt. They decided to interrogate the soldiers (I'm quoting from memory so there will be some inaccuracies).
Ferris: "you know who this guy is? he is a pervert sex maniac, and countless women and even children had been violated by him. and he doesn't even leave men alone. so you had better tell us where the girl is or he might not be able to keep his hands off you guys."
Terrible fear seen in soldiers' eyes.
Ryner: "what the heck are you talking...? Sigh... Hee hee hee, you guys have better speak up, it's been a long time since I played with men..."
When Ryner did that, it brought a smile to Ferris's face.
