I'll come back and suggest Space Battleship Yamato 2199 again. You liked Crest of the Stars, so I'm betting you'll like Yamato. Link has the trailer.

I'll also recommend Maison Ikkoku again. It does start off a little slow, but it is one of the most satisfying romances I've watched. 96 episodes long and I've rewatched it four times. Still love to just sit and listen to the music.
