My interest is piqued, though. Isn't the SMS a military subcontractor, and thus not a military organization? Ozma's wrist looks crooked too. I wonder if there's a standardized convention for Macross?


I read that you can use your left if your right hand is injured, but I'm not sure how universal that is. It'd be interesting if the animators deliberately threw that in to show Sheryl's lack of awareness of military custom, seeing as it's drawn the other way in episode three. Setting aside the possibility that they just did it on a whim, of course.
