Look, it was only a theory. I don't expect it to be in the story, but it's nice to fantasize about these things every now and then. I do think that if Luffy can control the air when he releases it, it could turn into an attack of sorts. It may come in handy if he faces Smoker again.
Other than that, I have an idea about what could be expected for Gear 4th, if he ever makes one. For the two current gears, jet and gigant, there is a pattern that could be followed for future gears. For one thing, they both end with the letter t. Another thing, jet is one syllable long, gigant is two, so the next one would be three and so on and so forth. One last thing, it describes how his attacks are different from his normal ones. What I mean by that is: with jet his attacks are fast; with gigant his attacks are giant. You want to know something? Now that I think about it, they probably added an extra g to giant inorder to make it sound more like two syllables.
