Not really, it's not like he countered the kick with one of his own and knocked her out. He saw it coming and fell on his ass to avoid it. That's not what I would call an advanced move. Besides I wouldn't call him a complete beginner since he's taken plenty of beatings over time. He's just been a coward and not bothered to retaliate...
