Well, for what it's worth, that's not even true. There were a number of very vocal detractors for the show on this forum, and of course everywhere else. There were also a good number of people who liked the show, but didn't like some aspects of the way the anime presented the second arc in particular, and for them the show could still count as "disappointing", even if they liked it overall.
