How can you cherish someone when you're inexplicably hurting them? Even though he realizes it, his actions are definitely going to end up hurting her in the end, his grave continues to get deeper as time goes on and he's pretty much allowing this to happen.
I agree with the whole craving the whole excitement thing because he even admitted that the "pain" of it feels delightful. With the latest chapter with the "exhibition" Yuno did, it's clear that is unwillingness to "dirty" her is deteriorating. I can't wait to see how is date with Kaori is going to take form.
