Carts move about 1-3mph. Allowing for stops and horse maintenance - that set a limit distance between villages of no more than about 20 miles apart. Far enough that most people never left their village except for perhaps a Big Festival in the area... or that some of the farmers would co-op a cart transport to sell good "in the city" nearby (bigger village/town).

Hmm thanks for the info. Figured there had to be some fruit trading in the past just wasn't sure how they pulled it off
. But sending them off before they are ripe would make sense. After all want to get them where they are going, and sold off well before any worry about going bad comes into play.
