Kyousuke Yamato - Mister Badass

A 2nd year student, he is extremely famous amongst his peers for having passed the entrance exam without even having had any prior Butei training. Very little is known about his past, other than he comes from Europe and is Alexandra's brother.
In truth, he is the descendant of one of history's most bloody vampires, Elizabeth Bathory. His current power levels have been diminished though, as he has abstained from drinking blood for five years. If it wasn't for that, he would be an S-Rank Butei. He is potentially one of the most powerful vampires in the world due to him absorbing blood from some of the most skilled and deadly individuals in the world.

Spoiler for Personality:

Usually going around and giving off the airs of a male model, Kyousuke has quite a unique character. While he is always calm and composed, Kyousuke also has a certain "flirtatious" side to him, he will rarely miss occasions wherever he can tease or flirt a bit with girls. He especially derives a lot of joy from seeing his fellow female classmates blush in embarrassment. It should be noted that this is just a game though for him, and he always takes care not to go too deep within his relationships with anyone.
Kyousuke however enjoys a very different relationship with his sister. Their link is very strong, and he is always seen deeply caring for her. A lot of people like to lump in some incestuous jokes between them, seeing how well both go along.

Spoiler for Abilities:

Superhuman strength, reflexes and agility. Also possesses heightened senses. Has the power to absorb one's abilities while drinking their blood, this process also allows him to remain eternally youthful. He also has four special vampire organs that instantly regenerate all of his wounds.

Spoiler for Nightray Team Position:

Always on the forefront whenever physical intervention is needed, Kyousuke spearheads most of the assaults with Asuka backing him up. He is also viewed as the team's captain.

Spoiler for Trivia (Warning, possible spoilers for my fic):

- His real name is Jonathan Bathory. He is the descendant of Elizabeth Bathory, the woman that bathed in the blood of a thousand virgins, and also a vampire. He ran away from his home as he did not want to become the next vampire lord of his area, and refused to drink blood (something his family did not allow). He was about to become a rampaging vampire when the Van Helsing family took him in.
- Kyousuke is currently fighting his increasing thirst for "good" blood. Not having drunk the blood of high quality individuals for the last 5 years has continuously increased his yearning to drink from a fresh human. The source of this blood is that Kyousuke possesses inside him a very high and concentrated amount of premium quality blood from select individuals, thus taxing quite a lot more Kyousuke's body.
- Supposedly extremely powerful, but having not drunk any 'good' blood for five years has taken its toll on his power levels. Kyousuke is right now at 25% of his original strength. This downgraded him to an A rank Butei, but if needed, he can perform a small burst and return to his former power levels for a small instance, although he will develop a deepening thirst for "good" blood if he ever does that.
- His silver hair comes from having drunk a small amount of blood from Alexandra when they first met.

Alexandra V.H Yamato - The Platinum Princess

Kyousuke's sister, she joined Tokyo Butei High alongside him and entering the school's 2nd year cycle. She is of European descent, originating from Netherlands. Her father is a local that met her mother while on a trip to Japan. Both eventually fell in love and got married. Alexandra is their first and unique child.
She never disclosed the the surname that is hidden behind the "V.H." initials, other than precising that it is her father's surname. A deeper investigation will reveal though that it is actually Van Helsing, the same surname as the famous vampire hunter's that hunted down Dracula. She thus is the inheritor of all the family's lore and knowledge about vampires. Not much is known about her mother.

Spoiler for Personality:

Generally a sweet and kind girl, Alexandra is very much appreciated by the entirety of the school for her gentleness. This often leads her to be compared to Shirayuki, something she isn't very fond off, as even though both are on good terms, Shirayuki views Alexandra's charm and attractiveness as a threat to her's and Kinji's relationship. This often leads to Shirayuki being pushy whenever Alexandra is having a talk with Kinji. She however has another sad and depressed side of her that shows up when she is alone, although the reason why she becomes as such is still to be figured out. Alexandra is easily embarrassed and flustered by talk relating to intimate relationships or pervert subjects. This might explain why she is so annoyed by Kyousuke's flirtatious habits, although this attitude could also be read another way.

Spoiler for Abilities:

She isn't known to have any special abilities. Her physical abilities are those of a highly trained human, she is very well versed in the occult and in vampires, and she is extremely intelligent. Other than that, she has not shown any signs of possessing special abilities.

Spoiler for Nightray Team Position:

Usually trying to solve cases from gathered clues while working behind the scenes, Alexandra also doubles as the team's sniper when needed with her crossbow.

Spoiler for Trivia (Warning, possible spoilers for my fic):

- She is actually a Dhampir as her mother is infact a Kyuuketsuki. This explains why the latter was very welcoming of Kyousuke in their family. This is also why Alexandra has unusual weird amber eyes that glow whenever she goes into her berserk rage mode, a state that confers her a lot of strengths that are usually specific to vampires.
- Alexandra might eventually kill Kyousuke unwillingly if her Dhampir side takes over her. It was originally asleep, but Kyousuke's sister recently awakened it.
- She has some affinity to magic, as she has shown Gabriel that she can manipulate light-type magic to a certain effect, although her current skills do not allow her to do anything really useful with it.

Gabriel Michaelis - God's Wrath

A French newcomer, he transfers in some time after the Butei incident in the same class as Kyousuke and Alexandra. He is in fact Alexandra's childhood friend. They were separated five years ago when Gabriel was sent to a certain school where he would follow a specific formation. Although he isn't very adamant about admitting it, Gabriel, following his ancestor's lineage, entered a special inquisitor school. Although he was very successful there, he somewhat got bored and decided to move into a much more interesting area. This was when he considered becoming a Butei in Tokyo Butei High. Indeed, he could use his skills as an inquisitor in the Dagula department, and he had quite a few qualifications for the SSR department as well. The main drive for him though was to check on Alexandra, as he hadn't seen her since a long time.

Spoiler for Personality:

Usually quiet and silent, Gabriel is often considered weird by his peers. Indeed, he has a host of weird and spooky reactions, such as the sinister tone that always lingers in his voice, his maniacal stares and his rather evil and sadistic comments or thoughts. This side of him usually scares off a lot of people, and thus, only a very little amount of classmates actually try to approach him. Below this apparently deranged personality though, lies a loving and caring soul. He is extremely protective of his friends, and is always willing to help.

Spoiler for Abilities:

Gabriel's most peculiar ability is his 'Eye of Providence'. It is a mysterious false eye that Gabriel inserts into his empty left eye socket. When connected, it acts like a normal eye for Gabriel, but more than that, it constantly allows him to detect and identify paranormal activities and powers. He can also see through solids with this artifact, and it can also serve as a catalyst for his spells. Concerning the latter, that is Gabriel's other special ability. He has access to an entire set of exorcist spells to fight off demons and the forces of the dark.

Spoiler for Nightray Team Position:

Charged with interrogating individuals, Gabriel can also head in and support Kyousuke whenever there is a supernatural threat, seeing that he can double as an exorcist. Gabriel is also in charge of coming up with strategies alongside Alexandra.

Spoiler for Trivia (Warning, possible spoilers for my fic):

- He has no left eye, it was gouged out when he was small so that he could fit in there the eye of providence, an artifact passed down since Sebastien Michaelis acquired it.
- He doesn't go along too well with Kyousuke some times. This is most probably because he doesn't really appreciates the fact that his best childhood friend (Alexandra) has been living with a Vampire, a supernatural being that Gabriel does not really appreciates.
- He is always seen eating sweets. Always.

Yui Miyamoto - The Sword Maiden(?)

Kyousuke's and Alexandra's classmate, she seems to know Alexandra in some way, as she's particularly attracted to her. It is later discovered that she is actually Alexandra's cousin, as Yui's and Alexandra's mothers are sisters.
Coming from a traditional Japanese family where there were no male descendants, she was trained in the art of the sword by her father to uphold the heritage of the Miyamoto bloodline. In this aspect, Yui is a formidable sword fighter, some say that she can even match Shirayuki if she gets serious. However, Yui dislikes sword fighting, and only resorts to it as a tool for self-defense.

Spoiler for Personality:

Usually considered as the group's airhead, she is very often daydreaming in class. Her tongue is a bit sharper than Alexandra's as she is colder and isn't really afraid of being brutally honest at times with her interlocutors. She still is a great asset though to those that manage to befriend her, and she naturally possesses a generous personality.
Yui is extremely scared of crawling insects, and will often freak out whenever she sees one. This is usually followed by her drawing out her katana and shredding the poor thing to pieces.
Yui isn't very fond of her exceptional swordsmanship and her father's strict samurai-like behavior. She prefers to spend her time playing eroges or chatting on the internet. Hacking some websites isn't above her as well...

Spoiler for Abilities:

Exceptional skill at using Japanese swords. Is athletic and agile. Good at cooking and doing house chores. Extensive knowledge on how to handle computers and hack into databases.

Spoiler for Nightray Team Position:

Often sitting behind and acting as the operator, Yui will always provide a live feed of information, and can also hack into systems when needed to provide additional data for mission purpose. If needed, Yui can also fight.

Spoiler for Trivia (Warning, possible spoilers for my fic):

- Yui is actually somewhat attracted to Alexandra. She tends to grope her and pamper her on her sensible parts, much to the latter's embarrassment. She also always tries to please Alexandra, and always makes it a point that she's as close to her as possible when in "tight" situations.
- As she said to Kyousuke, she never had a boyfriend, but weirdly, him and Gabriel somewhat intrigue and attract her with their peculiar personalities.
- Yui is a maniac of having everything organized. Once she sees something messy, she can't help but clean it up.

Asuka Azai - Rambo Girl

Yui's longtime friend, they both grew up in Japan. In the same class as the latter, she is busy with other assignments at the beginning, thus why she didn't really have a lot of time to help Kyousuke and Alexandra in their first case. However, she later becomes an active member in the Nightray team, following Yui, and becoming very good friends with the rest of the team. Her ancestor is the famous Azai Nagamasa. Just like him, her personality seems to be a copy-paste of him, except for one aspect: her perception of the world belongs to the modern one. Thus, she will usually always use guns instead of swords or the such. She does have a retractable spear that she always keeps on her, but she by far prefers using her dual Steyr TMP submachineguns.

Spoiler for Personality:

Brash, Hotheaded and full of energy, Asuka is "a radio powered by a nuclear powerplant" as Gabriel enjoys calling her. She LOVES to talk with others and involve herself into whatever is occurring around her. This sometimes annoy others, but Asuka is generally seen as a good and friendly girl that one can count on. She will always be enthusiastic about having to help others, and harbors a very strong justice within her. She still is a girl though, and has a somewhat sensible side below her strong personality.

Spoiler for Abilities:

Extremely good at using her firearms, she has received excellent training into wielding firearms with deadly precision. Asuka also has a fancy for explosions, and thus, has quite some knowledge about handling explosives.

Spoiler for Nightray Team Position:

While Kyousuke is a lot more discrete, Asuka always makes her entries with a big bang, by either blowing up a wall with explosives or coming in through a shattering window, etc... Due to this, the team usually prefers her to take action after Kyousuke has been discovered, or when the enemy is the less expecting it.

Spoiler for Trivia (Warning, possible spoilers for my fic):

- Asuka has a voracious appetite. She particularly enjoys meat and fats.
- Asuka is quite genre savvy. She loves to read both American and japanese comics, and thus, will often pull out familiar names in her jokes...
- She is always rooting for the Yui x Gabriel relationship, as she finds that somehow, the two look cute when together.
