Now that's what I call an eye-opening opening.
The show effectively straddles the fine line between amusing and horrifying. There wasn't a moment I wasn't creeped out by the stretchy symbiote that replaced Shinichi's hand but at the same time it was hilarious to watch him struggle as he tried to make sense of what became of his right hand.
What's freaky is that the hand's got its own vague sense of individuality and self- preservation. It was by sheer chance that the parasite failed to infiltrate Shinichi's brain and take over his body because his ears were plugged by earphones.
The weird out of place dubstep notwithstanding, I was hooked throughout the premiere. I can't wait to see what new horrors the new hand wreaks in Shinichi's life.
