I think that is a good distinction, but jazz and musical theater would also fall under that definition to some degree. There are some people who views Jazz and musicals under same light as Classical music. As I said, all the definitions/distinctions I list has some problems, thus none of them can 'correctly' define what people call 'classical music'. Even if you combine some of the definitions I list, there are problems and exceptions.
