My guess as to why Funimation's and Yen Press's spellings of Horo don't match is because Funimation's licensor insisted the name be spelled with an L while Yen Press's licensor thought differently or accepted YP's recommendation. I repeat, this is only my guess though. I haven't heard any officially stated reason.
